Starting Up Again

Guess what! This is our troop’s tenth year, and on August 28 we will have our 145^th meeting – not including camping trips and special events. We’ve been around for quite a while. This year, and for the next few years, girls will be receiving their ten year pins from the Council. Please see if you can figure out when you joined so that no one is missed. Let one of your trusty advisors know so we can make a list.

First Meeting for 2000-2002 – August 28, 2000, 7:30 – 10 PM

We’ll be getting started with a long list of business. We’ll want to begin by sharing all our summer adventures, so bring souvenirs, pictures, or whatever will help you tell the tale. We’ll plan to have show and tell from 7:30 until about 8:30, and then get down to all our business. Parents, we need you to come and spend a little time to update health forms, auto insurance records, and, if possible, bring a photocopy of your family's health insurance card.

Here’s the agenda

• Decide how we’re going to proceed with the Silver Award and divide up into committees to get started.
• If we decide to redo the Zoo Patch for the Silver Award, we’ll finish by December. Could we then get involved with Arabia Mountain as our Bridge to Seniors activities for the spring?
• Decide what we want to do for our fund raising activity at St. Bede’s on November 4 – child care, carnival games, crafts, and so forth – and how we plan to be paid for it.
• We need to get permission slips signed for our High Ropes day at Timber Ridge on September 16.
• Decide about spring camping

Reminders

It’s time to finish up your leadership hours. Remember, that the Silver Award Project is not all we do for the Silver Award. The Cadette Challenge, Dreams to Reality, Interest Project patches, and Leadership Award must also be completed for you to receive your Silver Award. You can check online to see how you're doing on your Silver Award progress.  Please send an email if something needs to be updated.
