Great meeting in October

Aisha and Jamie did a great job of planning and chairing the meeting.  Katie took the minutes and volunteered to be the scribe for the rest of the year.  Christina, Karen, Katie, and Elizabeth volunteered to baby sit for the October 9th Three Leaves Service Unit Meeting.  Our Service Unit meetings come up on the second Tuesday night of each month at 7 PM at Embry Hills UMC.  If girls would like to baby sit at future meetings, please contact Lianne Griffin, our Service Unit Director, to tell her when you want to come.  This is a great way to earn leadership or service hours.

Mrs. Unger passed out a few bills for fees leftover from last year for horseback riding and so forth.  New rosters were passed out.  Instructions for using Calling Post were given to the girls heading up the fall meetings so they can record & send out phone reminders the week of their event.  Everyone who needed to pay for a handbook has now done so.

Mrs. Lott asked that girls please let her know about things to go on the troop web site, especially when you arrange to have guest speakers come to our meetings and when you complete work toward an IPP or part of the Gold Award.  The whole troop did some work on the Leadership Award by reading half of Chapter 3 in the Senior Handbook.  Girls are supposed to finish reading Chapter Three at home at home.

Then the troop broke up into committees to work on the Camping and From Stress to Success IPP’s.  No report yet on plans from those committees.  Diana and Jenny will be in charge of the November meeting, which will be at the Callaways’ house at 7:30 PM on Friday, November 16 (please note change in start time). Don't forget to finish reading Chapter 3 in the handbook & to bring $1 for the Afghan children's fund. Liz and Katie have requested 25-30 minutes at the November meeting for a group discussion about the Senior Girl Scout Challenge.

Advisors’ Notes
