Upcoming Troop Events
Now that our London glory is over, the next Girl Scout item is making moccasins or boots at the Tandy Leather store on Lawrenceville Highway at Northlake Parkway this Saturday & next, June 19th & 26th from 1-3 pm. If you are coming from Northlake, turn left on Lawrenceville Highway and immediately right into the parking lot for Tandy Leather. They are diagonally across the intersection from Pikes. Moccasins come in two styles. The traditional moccasin kit is $15, and they have in stock sizes from children's up to adult size 13. There is also an ankle boot style kit for $30, in adult sizes to 13.

Those of you who want to make boots should plan on spending about $40. Pat has both patterns now, and you will want to come by her house Friday afternoon (6/18/04) at 3PM (or another mutually agreed upon time if Friday at 3 is inconvenient) to trace your pattern in your size. We want to go to the store with decisions made about which style, and patterns made in the right size. Pam Poe is the manager, and she thinks that if you cannot finish your boots in two hours, that she can send you home with instructions to finish on your own. |
