Thanks Brittany!

While Laura, Callie, Crystal, and Maria worked on Gold Award paperwork at our get-together this week, Brittany planned out our whole year. Here are the 2006-2007 dates that look like they’ll work for our meetings:

We’re thinking about a camping trip October 13-15, MLK Day at Nicholas House, and the Empty Stocking Fund, we hope on our December 15 date, but we’ll have to check. We usually do our February camping trip during President’s Day weekend, but that may not work this year. We’ll have to talk about it.

Next Meeting: Friday, September 15, 7:00 until 10:00 p.m.

Everybody seems to think that Fridays are still our best bet, so we’ll get together between 7:00 and 7:30, socializing until we get the meeting started at 7:30. Laura needs some group time to work on a Studio 2B Focus Book, so let’s plan to give her the last hour from 9:00 until 10:00.

Maria may need some Career Exploration time with a social worker, so we’ll see if Pat’s next door neighbor, Sally Harrell, who was our State Representative until a few years ago, can spend an hour with us from 8:00 until 9:00. Of course, that hour will count as a Career Exploration Pin hour for everybody who’s there.

As soon as we can get the dates for Brownie and Junior Weekends at Camp Timber Ridge, we’ll let you know. These weekends are a great resource for girls who need Leadership hours, but they are also a fun volunteer opportunity for anyone who enjoys younger girls.

Spending our Cookie Money

We did a great job of filling our treasury with cookie money last winter, and we will need to think about things we want to do. Maybe we’ll want to do something just for fun, like the new Medieval Times restaurant at Discover Mills, or maybe we’ll decide to use some of our cookie money to make a donation to a good cause. We’ll have to get Mrs. Unger to help us understand how much money we have and what camping trips and other things cost so that we can make good decisions.
