Camping Trip This Weekend !! – October 26-28
It is quite a thought to think that this may be our very last camping trip! We’ll have just enough to do with making our Final Three T-shirts (designed by Laura), taking a ring lesson, volunteering at the barn, and working on Gold Award paperwork. Be sure to bring Gold Award notebooks with ALL your stuff that you need (calendars, scraps of paper, lists) so that the dread paperwork does not stop us dead in our tracks.
At http://www.3leaves.org/4715/campinglist.html you can find our Troop Website packing list for camping. Mainly this time remember your mess kit, flashlight, warm layers, and Gold Award notebook. Adults who plan to make a Final Three T-Shirt, please bring the t-shirt. Someone volunteered to bring a boom box, so CD’s are okay, but persons over 21 have the call for when it goes off. Please remember your permission slips.
The Plan
Gear can be delivered to the Gargiullo house, 3911 Gladney Dr., 30340, on Thursday evening or on Friday morning. Please call Mrs. Gargiullo’s cell phone (770-355-1253) to be sure she is home.
Mrs. Gargiullo will pick up all three girls from school at 2:30 in the upper lot. Mrs. Unger will join everyone if she can make her escape from the CDC, and all five will proceed through the traffic toward Misty Mountain (map attached). Somewhere along the way there will be a Subway stop to pick up sandwiches for dinner (bring $$$). Meanwhile, Pat will have left LaGrange as soon as possible after her classes, and will head up US 27 toward Rome and then to Misty Mountain. Eventually all of us will arrive at the Farm House on the west end of the camp.
We ride at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, so we have plenty of time to work on t-shirts and paperwork, eat, sleep late (maybe until 9:00 – wow!), and hike, roast marshmallows, and sit around the camp fire. Sunday we will clean up and plan to be on our way around 11:00. We’ll stop for lunch at some fast food emporium ($$$) and plan to deliver each girl to her home by around 2:00 p.m.
