Offsite Lodging Options near Camp Misty Mountain
If you'd like (or need) to stay off-site, here are some nearby options.
Please note that except for the Farmhouse, we have no personal experience with the
places listed below. We searched for local options on the internet and came up
with this list. If you use any of these facilities, please let us know how they
worked out. (We might even post your comments!)
The Farmhouse (a winterized unit at the North End of Camp Misty Mountain) will be available for a Service Unit (or group of 10 or more friends) to reserve separately. It will accommodate up to 20 people and costs $100 for the weekend. Reserve this unit directly with the council office like you would for troop camping. It is a 20-30 minute walk or very short car ride from the main camp.
Camp Sidney Dew (the Northwest Georgia Boy Scout camp next to Misty Mountain,
chstone@bsamail.org)
"We have 9 sleeping cabins. 7 are two-room
with a double bed in front and 4 bunks in back, 2 are one-rooms, one with a
queen-sized bed and another with a queen plus 2 bunks. They are not heated
and have no plumbing, but have electricity. They are located near a common
shower house that is heated, has flush toilets and hot water showers, etc.
but would require a 50 yard to 250 yard walk from cabins to use. Cost is $40
per cabin for the weekend."
