MOUNTAIN MAGIC LEADER WEEKEND MEETING MINUTES June 28, 2007 - 7:00 – 9:00 PM

Welcome and Introductions – In attendance were Lianne Griffin (7/27), Marsha Sussman (2/15), Frances Parks (8/16), Kathy Stephan (5/31), Marie Lott (2/3), Kippy Shea (4/19), Carol Townley (2/19), Karen McFadden (9/7) and Gail Quinteros (7/25). (Birthdays in parentheses)  

Registration/Admin – Lianne swapped out charms/bracelets to 2007 planning committee members.  Jeanne still needs a unicorn; Gail still needs a bracelet; Lianne has 1 fairy charm left. Are you missing anything? Please let Lianne know if you are missing a charm or bracelet.

Kathy found inexpensive 9x12 envelopes - $3.95/100. She’s going to get 4 boxes for the committee.

Frances bought the swap necklace material. She and Carol are working on a “Yellow Submarine” photo op idea and are making “bead curtains” for the entry way to the dining hall.

Kippy got auto ID card holders donated to put into check-out packets.  The committee discussed possible ideas for movies for the weekend.

Lianne said that Becky Harris offered her house in Ellijay for a team getaway.  Lianne will contact Becky and see if she would be willing to host our group Saturday and Sunday, 10/20-10/21.  A backup weekend would be 10/6-10/7  ***UPDATE*** Becky has agreed to host the committee for the weekend of 10/20-10/21.   Becky would still like to help the committee and has been gathering things for the door prizes.  She is also willing to help with the photo/scrapbooking, but is not sure what we need.

Need Jeanne to see if she can get the council’s 15 passenger van to carpool up to Becky’s house in October.

Karen talked about door prizes. If the committee has door prizes they would like to “re-gift” please bring them to the next meeting and give to Karen.  Kathy has the buckets for cabin kapers. Kathy will bring to the next meeting and give to Karen; Karen to get contents.

Colleen Harris would be good at Camper Recognitions. Gail Q. to email Lianne Colleen’s contact info.

Regarding classes for 2008:  Lianne to email class info sheets to Gail.  We need to confirm classes by 8/1 if possible.  Lianne to also write an info paragraph for instructors about signing up to train classes.  Some possible classes:  Carol Pilgrim (Box Ovens + 1 other class?), Marie Lott (Napkin Folding/Cruise Ship Critters), Frances Parks (1 ½ hr How to Recognize Volunteers).

Marie advised that the website is up – www.3leaves.org/mm2008.  Contact her if you need the password.   Need to check with Kim Bowens to see how Misty artwork is coming for 2008.

Our next regular committee meeting will be Thursday 7/26 at 7:00 PM at the VSC.  Marsha Sussman is bringing homemade cheesecake to celebrate July birthdays!  Meeting adjourned at 9PM.
