Stargazing Sampler

Join us on Friday evening for an indoors Stargazing Sampler! We'll have a brief introduction to "What's Up?" in the January night sky using maps & smart phone apps.

We will then pop outside for a guided tour of the winter constellations, weather permitting. (If skies are cloudy we will make a planisphere and share constellation and star stories instead.)

This is a Friday evening mini-class.

Instructor will bring a green laser to point out the winter constellations and other stargazing resources. If skies are clear: bring gloves, scarf, hat, warm coat.

If skies are cloudy: bring a pair of scissors

Pre-camp downloads (details will be sent in pre-camp email):

  • Print & bring the January 2020 sky map from skymaps.com.
  • Optional but recommended: download the free version of the smart phone apps,"SkySafari" &/or "SkyView Lite"
