Before taking Girls into the woods on hikes or expeditions, it is wise to know how to use a compass, be able to read a map, and use that compass with a map. Why you ask? These are all skills everyone using a GPS device or cell phone with outdoor applications should know; as electronic devices do fail. Staying found and finding your way are key skills in navigation. Learn how to take these skills one step further as you explore topographical maps and orienteering principles.

Compass if needed, maps, game pieces, etc. Compass, Pencil

Dress for the weather, as activities will take place outside.
